Watercolor Landscape Painting of Mount Wilson Autumn Colors

This is a watercolor painting I started just before my wife and I took a three week trip to the Australian outback. I finished it on the weekend. It was an interesting challenge to paint all that green in with the bright autumn colours and I am very happy with the result.

I started the painting by splattering water where all the foliage was going to be and then moved on to splatter the warm and cool colors of the foliage.


I used a sponge to create a lot of the final foliage texture.
